A short distance from the spawn, there is a hole leading into an abandoned mine shaft. At the bottom of the hole there is a chest containing 2 gold, and some loaves of bread. Upon inspecting the abandoned mine shaft, you soon find a ravine full of mobs and a plethora of resources (Diamond included).

This map would be good for the survival adventurer, seeing as the diamond would be difficult to reach (Just because of how low it is), and because of the mobs protecting the resources.
