This one is a fun survival starting point.
Seed: shaddick - my own surname!
- In 1.2.5 this seed spawns you in an NPC village right next to a ravine. Nearby is a river as well as a jungle and a taiga biome.
Other locations on your doorstep include a large network of abandoned mineshafts and a two chest zombie dungeon with some excellent loot. I won't spoil your surprise on that one.

Below the ravine there is a network of abandoned mine-shafts.

In the immediate area is a dungeon, just below the surface.

Deeper underground, but nearby is a large cave like an underground ravine. Just swim down from 70,64,301, but remember if you're in survival that swimming up a long watershaft takes a while!

LagoyuI just spent about an hour trying to find a cave which leads into it, but unfortunately there is no direct way to the surface. I've now confirmed this with minecraft x-ray. However the whole massive network is easy to find. Stand near the waterfall in the middle of the ravine and sink a shaft straight down. You will definitely hit it within about 20 blocks of digging.
