First spawn right next to a horse herd, head to the right of them and you'll find a desert village w/ blacksmith and desert temple. Not much valuables in the blacksmith, but temple contains enchantment books, gold and diamond horse armor, and several saddles, perfect for the getting horses from the herd nearby.

When first spawning make sure you get over to the horses quickly and help them because they spawn on top of some cacti, which will kill them
