Spawn in Jungle Biome. There is a Desert Biome right next to spawn with a Temple at (x 138 y 63 Z 344) There is also a surface Spawner which also leads to a cave system at (x -72 y 60 z 209) However there really isn't any good loot in either except for some Iron in the Temple. If you continue south from the temple and you'll come to another Jungle with a ravine and exposed abandoned mine-shaft (x 93 y 65 z 691) On the way there you'll pass an extreme hills biome with a lot of openings some of which lead to cave systems.
