This is where the lake is. The location is a little far from the spawn but it is worth it. You can follow the beach to your right until you get to a desert. Once there go left over the large body of water until you get to mountains. The lake should be right there.

This is the location of an intact strongehold that spawned underneath an abandoned mineshaft.
